Some background.

I’ve been living in Napa and Sonoma for almost a decade, and have built an exciting career in the wine and culinary industry. I am the preferred chef at various vacation homes, wineries and resorts in the Napa and Sonoma area.

It all started in college when I would host weekly supper parties.

My love for food and wine began in college, when I would host weekly supper clubs in my own home! I loved that the kitchen was the heart of the house; the place where all of the juicy secrets were told, where the important conversations were had, and where the intoxicating aromas and tastes were made. 

I quickly developed a deep passion for creating authentic culinary experience tailored to my guests. Soon after, Sonoma from Scratch was born.

Since then, I have worked for multiple wineries, hotels, catering companies and local chefs, learning the skilled crafts of the trade. In 2016, I founded Sonoma from Scratch, a private chef company that highlights the seasonal bounties of Sonoma and Napa Counties. I have developed a deep passion for creating authentic culinary experiences hand tailored to my guests.

My Mediterranean inspired menus are all made from scratch and the majority of my ingredients are sourced from my own garden or from other local purveyors in the area. Celebratory occasions are my specialty, and I’d love to cater your next event whether it’s a birthday, anniversary or wedding celebration!

Culinary Institute of America, Napa:

When Samantha isn’t at the farmer’s markets or cooking for clients and friends, she works as a part time chef at the CIA Copia in Napa. She helps prepare for large events and conferences and supports other chefs for cooking classes and demonstrations. Everyday is a chance to learn something new from some of the most professional, inspiring chefs in the country. It is challenging and incredibly fulfilling!
